Founder and CEO of New Revenue Solutions Africa
Zuhura Odhiambo is a leading expert in communications, market strategy, data analytics and organization development. She is currently the Founder and CEO of New Revenue Solutions Africa, a prolific revenue generating company which enables organizations accelerates profitable revenue through the use of data, strategy and commercial development.
Her experience in the media sector spans over 10 years at the Nation Media Group, Capital Group and CNBC as a Commercial Director. Her desire is to see businesses develop winning strategies, generate multiple income streams and nurture strong brands. Over the years she has enabled companies to turnaround in East Africa through enhanced consumer experience and increase of revenue for sustainability. She is the Chairperson of Club 30% East Africa that advocates for gender diversity in boards where her work with Nairobi Securities Exchange has seen various milestones being achieved including legislating that women executives attain a minimum of 30% director roles in listed boards.
Zuhura is also the Chair of the Events Management Association of Kenya (EMAK) Board and has served on the Gor Mahia Sacco which empowers members socio- economically among others. She holds an MBA (Marketing) from Kenya Methodist University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Limkokwing University, Malaysia and has also undertaken the Senior Management Leadership Program and Developing Leadership Competencies from Strathmore Business School.
Her desire to ensure that affirmative action is embedded in organizations’ polices has seen her develop frameworks for gender diversity in the workplace and has undertaken the Women Directors Leadership Summit at the Strathmore Business School (SBS). She is also an alumni of Female Future Force programme from FKE (FFP). She is also a member of the following associations: Women Corporate Directors (WCD), MSK (Marketing Society of Kenya), PRSK and CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing).She is a co-founder and Director of Cocoa by Design event management firm. Zuhura has been instrumental in introducing various revenue activities to organizations which have generated high revenue outcome using data.
She was instrumental in the seeing the first Women Economic Forum being hosted by development partners, government, private companies, informal sectors, CSOs and women leaders which discussed the role of Women in reshaping the Kenyan Economy in February 2021.
She was involved in coaching and mentoring startups to develop award winning business cases and plans during incubation with Ibiz Africa, a Standard Chartered Bank Initiative in 2019. In 2018, she was a leader in the formation of the first Female Governor’s Network in Kenya to enable better county service delivery. She has initiated partnerships and was involved in having the first Indian Film Festival Kenya from the Indian Film Festival Worldwide which was also the first in Africa in 2018.
